The midfielder made his full home debut against Aston Villa as they registered their first win of the season and is certain that he made the right choice in joining the Saints
Gaston Ramirez is "confident" that Southampton will turn the corner following their first Premier League win of the season, while revealing that the desire of the club convinced him to join from Bologna.
Nigel Adkins splashed out a club-record £12 million to sign the Uruguay international on transfer deadline day, with the 21-year-old making his full home debut on Saturday as the newly promoted side beat Aston Villa 4-1 at St Mary's Stadium.

Ramirez received praise for his performance from team-mate Nathaniel Clyne and is convinced, now more than ever, that he made the right choice in joining the Saints.
"The only concrete, real and direct offer was the Southampton one," he told Tuttomercatoweb.
"They wanted me strongly and this convinced me to accept.
"I wanted to play in England, a league that I always liked. Here I have had an interesting opportunity; Southampton believe in me.
"We are a young team, we want to do well and we have the potential to do it: we are experiencing slowly, we need time but I am confident."
Ramirez is slowly acclimatising to life in England and, although he admits that the language barrier is causing a few issues, he has players like Brazilian attacker Guly Do Prado to help bridge the communication gap.
He continued: "My life in England? I don't speak the language yet, so I do have a little problem but I have team-mates who speak Spanish or Italian like Do Prado, so I am well integrated in the group."
