thumbnail Hello,

The 23-year-old has filled in for the injured Benoit Assou-Ekotto recently, and wants to keep the spot permanently after several loan spells away from White Hart Lane

Kyle Naughton wants an extended run as Tottenham's left-back after first-team regular Benoit Assou-Ekotto was ruled out for a month with a knee problem.

Former Sheffield United defender Naughton made his full debut for the club in their 3-1 win over Reading on Sunday, and wants to cement his place in the side after spending most of the last few seasons out on loan.

Naughton is more than happy to move over from his preferred right flank in order to secure more football, having played in a similar role at Norwich City last term.

"I played at left-back a few times for Norwich last season and hopefully now I can carry on playing," the 23-year-old told Tottenham’s official website.

"It was great to get the three points and that the gaffer gave me a chance to show what I can do.

"Towards the end I was tiring a little and they got in behind us a little but the more games I play, hopefully the stronger I’ll get."
