Cesar Azpilicueta made his first appearance in a Chelsea shirt on Friday, playing the full 90 minutes as the club's reserve side were beaten 3-2 by Charlton.

The 23-year-old featured at right-back in a Blues side containing experienced first team squad members in Paulo Ferreira and Ross Turnbull.

Azpilicueta is yet to make a first-team appearance for the west London outfit, following his summer move from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille, but could now be in contention following the international break.
