Rooney: I will stay as long as Manchester United want me

The England striker has faced questions over his fitness and commitment to the club but insists he still sees himself playing at Old Trafford 10 years from now
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has underlined his commitment to the club, insisting he will stay as long as he is still wanted.The 26-year-old is currently sidelined for up to four weeks after sustaining a deep gash in his leg whilst appearing as a substitute during the recent 3-2 win over Fulham.
Rooney had been dropped to the bench for that game after questions were raised over his fitness, and the England striker later admitted he had returned to pre-season training seven pounds overweight.

When asked where he would like to be in 10 years time, Rooney told talkSPORT: "Hopefully still here at Man Utd.
"That's the aim, the plan and what I want to do. As long as this club wants me, I'll be here and trying to be successful."
Rooney went on to address the turbulent contract negotiations in 2010 which saw him threaten to leave the Red Devils for their bitter rivals Manchester City.
"Sometimes as a player you make bad choices and bad decisions, and I think that's what happened," he added.
"Sometimes you see yourself somewhere else and that can play on your mind and make you say or do things you shouldn't have done.
"I realised I had made a mistake. I went back in to see David Gill and the manager. I told them I wanted to stay and be successful in the future."
However, the striker remained coy on fresh rumours that he is set for an exit following the acquisition of Robin van Persie, saying: "I saw that but I didn't think anything of it.
"If the manager didn't want me around, I'm sure I'd be the first one he'd tell.
"That stuff you have to deal with but if I'm wanted at this football club, I'll be at this football club as long as possible."
