Tottenham midfielder Van der Vaart poised to join Hamburg
The Lilywhites playmaker is set to return to his old club, despite the two sides not yet having agreed a fee for the Dutchman
Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart is on the verge of joining Hamburg, according to the player's agent. The German club have had a long standing interest in re-signing their former talisman, and had an earlier offer for the player rejected and described as 'direspectful' by Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas.
Van der Vaart's agent confirmed the 29-year-old was on his was to Hamburg for a medical, but also revealed that no fee has yet been agreed between the two clubs - but remains confident that a deal will be struck before the window closes.
"I can confirm that Rafael is on his way to Hamburg now for a medical," Robert Geerlings told Press Association Sport.
"No fee has been agreed, but when a player goes for a medical it is clear that the two parties intend to find a solution."
