Liverpool make loan offer for Chelsea striker Sturridge
The Reds are understood to have made an approach for the England forward on Thursday night as the manager looks to bolster his attacking options following Andy Carroll's departure
By Greg StobartLiverpool have made an offer to sign Daniel Sturridge on loan from Chelsea as Brendan Rodgers looks to improve his squad on the final day of the transfer window.
The Reds are understood to have made an approach for the forward on Thursday night after they allowed Andy Carroll to join West Ham on a season-long loan.

Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked with moves for the 22-year-old but Liverpool have been in pole position to sign the former Manchester City man throughout the summer.
Sturridge, who can play either wide or centrally, has two years remaining on a contract worth around £65,000-a-week.
He is believed to fear he will not get regular first-team football this season following the arrival of Eden Hazard to Stamford Bridge, while he blames a lack of opportunities for his failure to claim a place in England’s Euro 2012 squad.
Liverpool are also in talks with Fulham over a deadline day move for Clint Dempsey, while Charlie Adam is at Stoke City ahead of a permanent transfer.
