The Black Cats' skipper is excited by the experienced Frenchman's hold-up play and, after debuting from the bench against Arsenal, hopes he can make a big impact on Wearside
Sunderland captain Lee Catermole has praised new signing Louis Saha claiming he will be a huge asset to the side.
Saha joined the club last week following his release by Tottenham, making his debut off the bench in the Black Cats' 0-0 draw at Arsenal on Saturday.
And the Stockton-born midfielder believes the Frenchman's experience will prove vital in the Wearside club's quest for goals.
Cattermole told the club's official website: “Louis has got great experience, you could see that even before the game talking to the lads in the dressing room.

“He’ll be great for us. Coming on and holding the ball up for us helped because I thought we got deeper and deeper. I think he’ll be a great signing for us.
“We’ve got experience through the team with the like of John O’Shea and Carlos Cuellar, Titus Bramble and Matt Kilgallon. All of them are big talkers.”
