‘We will support the team with a player or players’ – Sheikh Mansour hints at new signings at Manchester City
The club's billionaire owner claims manager Roberto Mancini is "completely satisfied" with the current squad but suggests the champions could still spend this summer
Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour has hinted that the club intend to sign players before the close of the transfer window. The Premier League champions have yet to bring anyone into the Etihad, despite speculation linking them with several players including Liverpool defender Daniel Agger and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.
Manager Roberto Mancini has been vocal in his frustrations at the lack of transfer activity but Mansour has now responded, claiming the City boss is “completely satisfied” with the current squad but hinting that there could be additions.
“What is important is to preserve the achievement of winning the title and maintaining the good standards of last season,” he said, according to the Daily Star.

“But this does not detract from the efficiency and capacity of the current squad of players with whom the manager is completely satisfied.”
Mansour arrived at Manchester City in 2008 and has spent over £400 million on players in that time, and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak revealed how dedicated he was to the cause.
“Sheikh Mansour did not miss a single minute of football last season. He saw every Premier League game, every cup and Champions League match,” he added.
“Even when games were not shown on television we always found a way to get it aired to him. It’s incredible – he never misses a game.”
