Villas-Boas delighted with Tottenham performance against Liverpool
The former Chelsea boss was happy that his team managed to defend well and keep up with their fitness training despite "almost impossible" playing conditions in Baltimore

Spurs had arguably the best chances of the match as temperatures soared in Baltimore, and Villas-Boas was pleased with his team's attacking play, but also the way they kept up the pace.

"It was a great, great effort," Villas-Boas told the club's official website. "In these conditions, it's almost impossible to play.
"I'm extremely pleased, especially when you consider that Liverpool are a week ahead of us in their preparations and physically, that means a lot.
"It was good to see [the payers] manage to stay on their level fitness-wise and create good opportunities as well. Defensively we were very solid, compact and we pressed Liverpool high up the pitch.
"From the first minute we managed to press them, create problems, recover balls, stay defensively compact and that signifies an improvement from what we did against LA Galaxy.
"This is the commitment that you want. In the end, every team that goes through pre-season is trying to build for the first game [of the Premier League], physically and in a certain style of play.
"We achieved good things and that's why I'm very pleased."
