Lindegaard will get his chance, says Manchester United goalkeeping coach Steele

The Danish shot-stopper found himself behind David de Gea for much of the last campaign, but will be given the opportunity to stake a claim for United's No.1 spot in pre-season
Manchester United goalkeeping coach Eric Steele says that Anders Lindegaard is set up to be handed the chance to impress manager Sir Alex Ferguson in pre-season, with first choice keeper David de Gea away on Olympic duty.The 28-year-old, who signed for United from Norweigan club Aelesunds FK, has found opportunities hard to come by since his arrival at the club in 2010 - but that now looks set to change according to Steele.
With De Gea currently in London with the Spanish Olympic team, Steele believes that this is the perfect opportunity for Lindegaard to play his way into the manager's plans for the upcoming season.
"David has great potential and wants to be the No.1 here, but while he plays at the Olympics we've got Barcelona in a friendly, and other games in Oslo and Hannover." Steele told the Sunday People.
"So Anders will get the chance to stamp his authority in the United goal and stay in the team."
Steele did admit, however, to being impressed with De Gea in the second half of last season, following a shaky start for the 21-year-old.
He continued: "We knew it wasn't going to be easy for David following a legend like Edwin van der Sar - and that's why we brought in two keepers to replace him, with Anders joining us too.
"The whole idea was for them to share the season. Unfortunately, Anders got injured in February, but David came in and finished the season so well.
"We knew it was going to be a difficult start for David, but it was a learning curve and he showed mental strength. We feel he should be better for the experience second time around."
