Tom Hanks gives his backing to Aston Villa manager Lambert
The film star is a big fan of the Villa Park club, and has revealed that he knows all about the new boss, and is excited about the arrival of the former Norwich City chief
Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has received the backing of Hollywood star and Villa fan Tom Hanks, who revealed he is "really excited" about the arrival of the former Norwich City boss.The star of Forrest Gump and Saving Private Ryan made the trip to watch Villa play against Portland Timbers on Tuesday, and spent time talking with Lambert, who he says "will bring wisdom and confidence to Villa Park".
"I am really excited about Paul Lambert," Hanks told the Birmingham Mail.
"I knew all about him coming in. I was working in London just recently and was told about Paul. I was told it's going to be very exciting. He will bring wisdom and confidence to Villa Park. I am looking forward to it.

"I met Bob Stephenson about three years ago. He knows all things Villa and we have compared notes on Villa back then and we have taken it from there.
