Defoe leaves Tottenham pre-season tour after bereavement

The England international striker has returned to London after being granted compassionate leave by the club following the death of his cousin while holidaying in St Lucia
Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has departed the club's tour of USA following the death of his cousin.The forward had featured in Spurs' 1-1 draw with LA Galaxy before receiving the news and returning home.
The club have granted the 29-year-old compassionate leave from the remainder of the tour following the death of his cousin, Hannah Defoe, who passed away while on holiday in St Lucia.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Everyone at the club sends their sincere condolences to Jermain and his family and all our thoughts are with them at this sad time."

He feels that Ribery's elbow on Lewandowski during the first half could easily have been construed as deliberate by match official Nicola Rizzoli.
