QPR vice-chairman Amit Bhatia keeping track of Defoe & Bellamy

Mark Hughes' side are looking to avoid becoming entagled in another relegation scrap, and have a list of possible players to bring to the club to strengthen the team
QPR vice-chairman Amit Bhatia has said that the club have a long short-list of players they are monitoring to bring to Loftus Road this summer, including Jermain Defoe and Craig Bellamy.

The west London club is looking to avoid another relegation battle in the upcoming campaign, and Mark Hughes has already signed Park Ji-Sung from Manchester United, Robert Green from West Ham and Fabio Da Silva on loan to help improve his side's prospects.

The club has been linked with a host of different players including Tottenham striker Defoe, as exclusively revealed by Goal.com, while they are also tracking Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy who is currently with Team GB preparing for the Olympic Games.

Bhatia told Sky Sports: "It would be hard to speculate at this point [on Defoe's transfer status]. It's not the right thing to do. Mark likes to have a long list of players! We'll see what happens.

"Many of the players we are after potentially have interest from other clubs also.

"Craig [Bellamy] is definitely a name that has been mentioned, a name we've discussed. There are a few options.

"We have been a fan of Craig Bellamy for the last few years, ever since he became available, thats not to say we have not been fans of other players.

"Many names have been tossed about, and who Mark settles on eventually will be his, and we'll do our best to supoort him."
