Newcastle could lose Cisse to Olympics

Magpies boss Alan Pardew has revealed that Senegal are considering picking the striker for London 2012, meaning the 27-year-old would miss the club's pre-season programme
Newcastle could be without Papiss Cisse during their preparations for the new Premier League campaign with Senegal set to pick him for the Olympic Games.
The striker enjoyed a prolific scoring run following his January move from Freiburg last season, netting 13 times in 14 league appearances as the Magpies clinched a fifth-placed finish.
But Newcastle could now be forced to cope without their talismanic No.9, with the London 2012 football programme running alongside the club's pre-season plans.

Should Senegal reach the final, manager Alan Pardew will be without his striker until just a week before the new league season kicks off.
However, though the Englishman admits the call-up would be an inconvenience, he has revealed he will not stand in the forward's way.
He told Sky Sports: “We have to give our permission and we are sort of discussing it.
"It's awkward because we want to prepare for a difficult season ahead of Europa League and Premier League games."
