The traditional curtain-raiser to the league season will take place at Villa Park this year due to Olympic Games commitments, with the kick-off time also brought forward
The Community Shield between Premier League winners Manchester City and the FA Cup holders Chelsea on August 12 will kick-off at 13.30 BST.
The game between Roberto Mancini's side, who sealed the title on the final day of last season, and Roberto Di Matteo's Champions League winners will be played at Villa Park, as Wembley is unavailable due to Olympic Games commitments.
It will be the second successive appearance in the traditional curtain-raiser for City, who lost 3-2 to United in the opening match of the 2011-12 season.
Chelsea last appeared the year before, also losing to Sir Alex Ferguson's side.
