'I will decide my future after the Euros' - Modric hints he could leave Tottenham this summer

After being heavily linked with Chelsea last summer, the playmaker's future at Spurs is yet again in doubt after claims he has yet to decide where his future lies

Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric has hinted his career at White Hart Lane could be over, stating that he will make a decision on his future at Euro 2012.

The 26-year-old had been strongly linked with a move to London rivals Chelsea last summer, though Spurs resisted the temptation of a reported £30 million bid.

However, with Modric set to jet off to Poland and Ukraine for the European Championships with Croatia next month, the former Dinamo Zagreb man has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is ready to end his White Hart Lane career.

"I will decide about my future after the Euros," Modric told reporters.

"I will make the decision where to continue my career. I’m ready for the big tests."

Much of the midfielder’s decision could hinge on Spurs' Champions League qualification next season.

Having finished fourth in the Premier League for the second time in three seasons, the north London club now face a nail-biting wait to see whether they have done enough to secure a place in Europe’s premier club competition.

Ironically, a win in the Champions League final for one of Modric’s potential suitors, Chelsea, would see Harry Redknapp’s men miss out on Champions League football and could potentially be the catalyst for Modric’s departure.

The Croatian midfielder is not said to be short of admirers, with both Manchester clubs reportedly monitoring his progress.
