Benayoun to decide Chelsea future after Arsenal loan spell

The 32-year-old has shone in recent weeks with a number of impressive performances but is due to go back to Stamford Bridge soon following his season-long stint at the Emirates
Yossi Benayoun has revealed he plans to make a decision on his future after his loan spell at Arsenal has expired and he has returned to Chelsea.

The 32-year-old has established himself as a key member in the Gunners squad in recent matches but has refused to reveal if a long-term stay at the Emirates Stadium is a possibility.

“Since I came to Arsenal I have always been committed to one club until the last game of the season,” he told reporters. “The only thing I want is for Arsenal to finish in third place, I don't care about anything else.

“When I finish I will have to decide about my future. I am supposed to go back to Chelsea first and then we will see what the future holds."

The former West Ham and Liverpool attacking midfielder was pleased to have netted the opener in the Gunners’ dramatic 3-3 draw against Norwich City at the weekend, but disappointed at the outcome of the game.

He added: “I finish here in a good way. In the last few months I have been more involved. Of course you want to play and you want to enjoy it and I think I have played a big part in the last few games.

“You always remember the end and I am happy with my performances in the last few months. I haven't scored many this season, I think it was my fifth goal, but it was one of my best. Normally I like to pass to other players and it was a good finish.

“But after that I thought we would go on and win the game. Normally when you score you think it is the right day for you but we did not play well enough after this.”
