Manchester City boss Mancini watches Lille's Hazard on scouting trip

The Italian boss is in France to take in the Ligue 1 champions' clash against Valenciennes, with Manchester United and Tottenham having already watched the Belgian attacker
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has travelled to France to watch Lille and is believed to be scouting winger Eden Hazard.

The French champions faced Valenciennes on Sunday night, with the Belgian forward starting the clash and scoring an early goal in a 4-0 victory.

The 21-year-old has already attracted the interest of City's Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Sir Alex Ferguson watched the Belgian attacker in action eight days ago as the Ligue 1 champions fell to an away defeat against Olympique Lyonnais.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is believed to have scouted Hazard several times but the forward recently revealed his excitement at the Red Devils' interest.

He told La Voix du Nord: “Of course [United interest me], this is a club that excites everyone, but for now my focus is on Lille.

“But yes, it is a pleasure to be watched by one of the best coaches in the world, if not the best.”

Defender Mathieu Debuchy has also attracted the attention of several big clubs and could also be on the Italian's wish list.
