Chelsea's Villas-Boas ‘really close to getting sacked’, according to Torres' former agent

The £50 million striker’s former representative believes the Portuguese manager is facing the axe after poor form has led to a bad atmosphere in the dressing room

The former agent of Fernando Torres, Antonio Sanz believes Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is scared of the getting the boot from Stamford Bridge and it is affecting the whole squad.

The striker was recently left out of the Spain squad due to his profligacy in front of goal and Sanz insists that Villas-Boas is to blame.

The agent’s response has come after the 34-year-old boss recently went on a Portuguese radio station and compared Torres to former Chelsea flops, Meteja Kezman and Andriy Shevchencko.

“Villas-Boas is not fulfilling Chelsea's expectations and he's really scared because he is really close to getting sacked,” Sanz told the Daily Mail.

“It's true that Fernando Torres' stats aren't that great and that's the reason he's not with Spain for the Venezuela game.

“But I don't think Torres has a problem, it's just that Chelsea aren't helping him find his form.

“According to Chelsea's players, there is a bad atmosphere in the dressing room.”

Torres has not scored for Chelsea since October and has managed just three Premier League goals for the club since his mega-money switch to west London 13 months ago.
