Roberto Mancini's striker has hit a bit of a rough patch recently but has welcomed the visit of his father-in-law, the Argentine legend

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has received a confidence boost after his father-in-law Diego Maradona paid a family visit.

Maradona, now in charge of Dubai outfit Al Warsi, travelled to England at the weekend to visit his daughter Giannini, Aguero and their young son Benjamin, ahead of City’s Europa League round of 32 second-leg clash with Porto on Wednesday.

The former Atletico Madrid man has suffered a recent dip in form, scoring just two goals in his last eight appearances - including the winner in the first leg against Porto - so the visit from the Argentine legend could provide him with a morale-boost ahead of his next game.

With the FA Cup taking pole position this weekend, the Manchester City players were all given the weekend off and are due to return to training on Monday - with another Argentine, Carlos Tevez, back from exile but set to train alone once again.

Meanwhile, the behaviour of City's fans has got the club in trouble again as they have been fined for a third time after apparently letting off fireworks before kick-off against Porto in Portugal.

However, Uefa appear unwilling to investigate the allegations that Yaya Toure and Mario Balotelli were racially abused by Porto fans on Thursday.
