thumbnail Hello,

The left-back is set for a run in the team with injury hitting Aleksandar Kolarov, and calls for victory in two "really important" fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal

Gael Clichy claims his Manchester City are confident of victory against any opposition, as his side play away at Chelsea on Monday night and then at home to Arsenal next week.

Although out of the Champions League, City are first in the Premier League with 48 goals after 14 matches, 13 more than their nearest rivals United.

And Clichy believes City should be going into the big games looking to win.

"The next two fixtures are really important, they are huge," Clichy told City TV.

"They are the type of games that as a player you want to play and train every day for. If we come out with four points, that would be great, but of course we are aiming for the six points.

"We know we are capable of doing anything against any team. We will be going to Chelsea with the idea of three points. We will try to give our best shot because we can do it if we are serious and focused."

The left-back, set for a run of games due to Aleksandar Kolarov’s groin injury, says the team are comfortable despite having a target on their head.

"Every team now wants to be the first team to make City lose because we haven't lost a game yet," he said.

"And we have just had a team [Norwich] that came standing 10 men behind the ball and trying to get a draw with set-pieces and counterattack. We are aware of this and so far we have managed to do well. We just have to keep on working like this and hopefully it will be fine."

On the criticism of the cost of assembling the team, he remarked: "It is easy from the outside to say we are a club and a team based on money, buying the quality we have. Of course, but we have a great atmosphere in the team. The lads are amazing."

He added: "I feel I am improving game after game.

“That is why I came to City and I want to win trophies. I am going to try my best to bring something to the team and hopefully to bring something to the fans."
