thumbnail Hello,

England international pleased with manner of victory as Harry Redknapp's side dug in to secure all three points and admits he and his team-mates left nothing out on the field

Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker has expressed his delight with the team’s performance in their 2-1 victory over bitter rivals Arsenal last week.

The England international was happy with the football Spurs played but revealed the most pleasing thing about the victory was the resolve it took to hang on to to all three points.

He told the club’s official website: “We showed another side to our game and that was very pleasing.

“In the last three games we’ve won we’ve controlled them all and played some great stuff, but this time we had to dig in.

“When they came back to 1-1 they were on top but we managed to go on and win the game. We had other chances as well. In the end 2-1 was a great result, but it could have been more.”

Parker admitted all the players in Harry Redknapp’s side left nothing in the tank and it was worth the effort for the precious victory over the Gunners.

“It was a little tiring out there. They had one more man than us in midfield and at times that caused us a few problems, but you do what you have to do," he continued.

“Everyone put a shift in and we won the game, that was crucial.

“It was a really exciting game, really intense and I’m really pleased we came out with the three points, that was the most important thing.”
