The Manchester United winger got the winning goal against Wales and insists the three points is all that matters, as he looks to secure three points in final group game
The England winger scored the only goal of the game against the Welsh in what was a below-par performance, with the Three Lions now six points clear at the top and needing only a point to secure qualification for Euro 2012.
Young told FATV: “Now it is important we go to Montenegro and seal that top position by getting all three points.
“We go to Montenegro looking to win, we don't go there looking for any other results. We take the positives out of tonight and bring them forward to that final game and try and get the result.”
Young netted after following up a Stewart Downing dribble and cross in the first half, but admitted that the result was all that mattered against a spirited Welsh side.
“Of course I am delighted to get on the score sheet, but at the end of the day, the main thing was getting the result. Luckily we have been able to do that," he said.
“Stewart did brilliant down the wing and I was able to get myself in the right position at the right time to finish it off.
“We knew it was going to be a tough game, they were going to come here and make it difficult.
“We have come into this period to get the six points, and we have done that. It was a tough game, especially in the second half but we got that one goal securing the win.”
Young moved to Manchester United in the summer from Aston Villa, and he says he will help his team-mates Chris Smalling and Phil Jones settle in the England set-up.
He continued: “It is an easy squad to settle into, very welcoming. When you have been around the squad for a long time you want the young players to be involved and we want to integrate them into the squad.
“It is a transitional period for the squad, where there is a lot of youngsters who have being playing well at their clubs. I think the manager said that whether you are old or young, you will get your chance, showing he is a man of his word.
“I'm now seen as one of the older boys so it is nice to give them advice. They have come though and I had advice at their age so it is good to do that for them. If I can help them that little one per cent then I have done my job.”
