Harry Redknapp's side are braced to beat Real Madrid to the transfer of the 16-year-old, who netted nine times in four outings at the Under-17 World Cup in Mexico this summer

Tottenham are preparing a €2.25 million swoop for Ivory Coast starlet Souleymane Coulibaly, according to reports.

The 16-year-old striker, who has been dubbed 'the new Didier Drogba', impressed scouts at the Under-17 World Cup following his nine-goal haul, which included two back-to-back hat-tricks, in just four games.

According to The Daily Mirror, the AC Siena youth player is also the subject of interest from Real Madrid, but Spurs are set to pip Jose Mourinho's side to the transfer.

As a sweetener to the deal, Harry Redknapp will reportedly promote Coulibaly to the Tottenham first-team squad.
