The 22-year-old midfielder is hopeful of picking up a victory against Spurs and believes if the Reds play like they did against Fulham on Monday they will get the three points
The Reds have been in brilliant form recently and put five past Fulham on Monday, epitomising the revival under Kenny Dalglish.
A win against Tottenham at the weekend after Spurs’ 1-0 defeat at Manchester City on Tuesday will secure fifth place, a finish that looked improbable when the Scot took over from Roy Hodgson with the club in the bottom half of the table.
However, Spearing is aware of the threat that Harry Redknapp’s side pose but is confident that if the Reds can put in a performance as good as the one against Fulham they are capable of grabbing the three points needed.
"On their day they can turn it on if they want to," he told the club's official website.
"The amount of players they've got and the standard of players they've got means it's going to be a difficult game at Anfield.
"But we're the home team and if we play like we did against Fulham we'll put them under pressure.
"The game on Sunday is going to be massive. The Europa League is still a massive competition and Liverpool need to be attempting to win as much silverware as possible."
He added: "We're all fighting for places now and everyone wants to play well.
"We want to end the season on a high and we've got to chase Tottenham. We showed against Fulham what we're all about and we want to finish high."
