O's supremo ready for match against League Cup flops

Leyton Orient chairman Barry Hearn is hoping to pile the pressure on Arsenal with a shock win at the Emirates in their FA Cup replay on Wednesday night.

The Gunners lost the League Cup final to underdogs Birmingham on Sunday and the east London club will be hoping for a second upset in four days after securing a 1-1 draw in the original tie.

"We shall all be waiting to see which Arsenal team turns up for the replay,'' Hearn told ESPNsoccernet.

''Will it be the one out to give us a spanking in retribution for losing the Carling Cup final at Wembley, determined to take it out on us. Or will they turn up jaded and suffering a hangover from losing to Birmingham?

''We are going out there to win. I can tell you this: we learned more about Arsenal from the first game, then they did about us."

A late goal from Jonathan Tehoue sealed the replay after Tomas Rosicky’s goal had put Arsenal ahead and Hearn says he expects his team to play even better in the replay.

Hearn added: "We showed them too much respect, we were in awe of the occasion, in awe of so many great players in the Arsenal line-up.

"Not this time, not in the replay, and for that reason I would expect our players to improve, because playing Arsenal is no longer a surprise to them.

“I am not going to make any silly predictions, but all I would say is, that if it came down to heart and character alone then we will win."

Arsenal’s quest for silverware goes on following the defeat to Birmingham on Sunday but Hearn is keen to focus on his own club’s fortunes.

“We haven't won anything for a lot longer than Arsenal. So, no I have no sympathy,” he added.

''This is the first time in 29 years we've been in the fifth round and we want to make the most of it, having drawn such a plum fixture. And I know the players won't let us down.

"We're in a very competitive world and although they haven't won anything for six years, they have been there or thereabouts.”
