Second away match on trot continues recent revival

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti was delighted with his side's performance in their win over Sunderland and believes his side has "definitely turned the corner" after the 4-2 win.

Goals from Frank Lampard, Salomon Kalou, John Terry and Nicolas Anelka were enough to see the Blues past an impressive Sunderland side in an enthralling encounter at the Stadium of Light, and Ancelotti was pleased with his players' contribution.

"We played very good football and got a very important result." Ancelotti told BBC Radio5Live.

"We were able to repeat our performance against Bolton, and to win away at Bolton and Sunderland is very good.

"We are in a very good moment and we have definitely turned the corner."

It's been a hectic 24 hours at the London club, with Chelsea sealing the signings of Fernando Torres and David Luiz last night, for a combined total of £71 million.

Ancelotti isn't getting carried away though and realises the need to stay focus for their huge encounter with Liverpool at the weekend.

"It's been a good week yes, but we have another important week ahead," he said.

"On Sunday we face Liverpool and we need to make sure we're ready for that match."
