Carlo Ancelotti Unsure If Chelsea Have 'Turned The Corner' Despite Bolton Win
Italian 'not interested' in whether Didier Drogba was offside or not
Carlo Ancelotti has remained cautious following their victory over Bolton, insisting that only time will tell if Chelsea have turned over a new leaf. The Blues had gone six games without a victory and slipped out of the top four in the Premier League, and were on one of their worst runs in many years.
But the west London club returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Bolton at Stamford Bridge, thanks to a controversial second-half strike from Florent Malouda, as Didier Drogba was being played just onside by Sam Ricketts in the build up.
"We needed to change the atmosphere and change the trend, and the goal was a weight off our shoulders," Ancelotti said, according to The Mirror.
"We will have to wait to find out if we have turned the corner, because we are still not in our best condition, confidence or atmosphere, but this was an important step."
He added: "The players have had a fantastic year, and it should give them fantastic memories, so it was important to round off 2010 with a victory.
"If they looked afraid tonight, this is normal because there was a lot of pressure on them, but if you are a bit nervous you can have extra motivation.
The Italian continued: "We can improve, we have to improve and I hope 2011 will be the same as 2010. I don't know if the goal was offside and I am not interested."
