Juventus Prepared To Offer Chelsea Defender Branislav Ivanovic Centre-Back Spot In Bid To Tempt Him To Italy - Report

According to the Daily Mail, Juventus manager Luigi Del Neri is willing to offer Serbia and Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic a centre-back spot in a bid to tempt him away from Stamford Bridge.

The Serbian international, who was voted in last season's Premier League team of the year, regularly appears for the English champions at right-back but is thought to favour a position in the heart of the defence.

With both John Terry and Alex already occupying the centre-back berths, and Jose Bosingwa a long-term injury, it looks unlikely that Ivanovic will be moving inside any time soon and he may have to settle for holding on to his position at right-back.

It is thought that Del Neri sees Ivanovic as the man to solve his defensive worries and is willing to guarentee the former Lokomotiv Moscow defender the centre-back spot to try and secure his signature.

Ivanovic's national teammate Milos Krasic is already at Juventus and it could be that the former CSKA Moscow right winger could be used as a measure to persuade the defender that his future lies in Italy.

Juventus have also been linked with Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko and Stuttgart's Serdar Tasci in recent weeks.
