Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar has spoken of his determination to hit the back of the net for his club, and would love it to be against Manchester United this weekend.

The South Africa international has not scored for his club since March, but he did hit the crossbar against Aston Villa in his last outing for the Toffees.

Pienaar feels that Everton are unlucky not to have claimed three points yet this season, and he knows that a goal against Manchester United on Saturday would give his team a vital help to bring home their first win.

"I don't think the team has been playing badly and we've been unfortunate not to pick up three points," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"That's football - sometimes you play well and don't win games. Hopefully on Saturday we can get a win.

"Maybe we're short on luck at the moment but we have to keep going and it will come.

"We need goals and I want to score more.

"I was close at Villa and I was close with the national team last weekend (South Africa beat Niger 2-0 in an African Cup of Nations qualifier).

"Hopefully it will come this Saturday. It would be great for me personally because a lot of my friends support Man United in South Africa and it would be something for me to boast about.

"But it would also be great for the team as well if we can get maximum points."
