Newcastle United Forward Xisco Hit With Three Match Ban
Spaniard forced to sit out first-team games after red card...
By Andy Street
Newcastle United have confirmed that their Spanish forward Xisco will be suspended for three matches after being red carded whilst playing for the Reserve side.
Xisco was sent off playing against Sunderland Reserves on Tuesday night for flicking out his foot at the Wearsiders' youngster Jordan Cook.
The incident, which occurred off the ball at the Stadium of Light, saw the Spaniard given his marching orders and although his side went on to win the match 3-1 Xisco will now face a spell in the stands.
Despite the incident occurring during a Reserves game, Xisco will now be ineligible for the first-team games against Blackpool and Everton in the Barclays Premier League as well as the Carling Cup tie against Premier League champions Chelsea.
