Sven-Goran Eriksson has been interviewed for the Aston Villa manager's job, according to ESPN Soccernet.

The former England boss was interviewed for the post after a meeting reportedly took place in London earlier this week.

Eriksson is keen to return to the Premier League having had a spell with Manchester City, and he was linked with the Fulham job before Mark Hughes was appointed.

The Swede coached Ivory Coast at this year's World Cup but could not get them past the group stages.

Former West Ham United and Charlton Athletic boss Alan Curbishley has also reportedly been interviewed for the position, while other names linked to the job include former Dutch international Ronald Koeman and Everton boss David Moyes.
