Tottenham Boss Harry Redknapp To Offer Three Stars In Exchange For Aston Villa Winger Ashley Young - Report

EPL: Ashley Young & James Milner, Aston Villa - Fulham (PA)
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is willing to offer David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas and Robbie Keane to Aston Villa in exchange for Ashley Young.

Redknapp failed in his attempt to bring the 25-year-old to White Hart Lane last summer, with Villa increasing Young’s wages to £65,000-a-week to keep him from leaving.

The Spurs boss has not given up his pursuit of the star winger, but Villa’s £30 million price tag for Young is too much for Tottenham to afford.

However, Redknapp see another way of getting Young to join Spurs, and could offer Villa Keane, Bentley and Jenas in exchange, according to The Mirror.

Villa acquired Young from Watford in January 2007 for £9.65 million, and will have to receive an fantastic offer to even think about letting him leave the club this summer.

O’Neill has expressed his interest in Keane, a Republic of Ireland international, who found opportunities with Spurs so scarce that he moved to Celtic on loan in January.

The Villans, who might also lose star midfielder James Milner to Manchester City this summer, could be tempted to sell Young if he demands to leave in an attempt to revamp the club.
