Liverpool starlet Daniel Pacheco is set to move to La Liga new boys Real Socieded after ex-team-mate Xabi Alonso sold him on the switch.

The attacker has been in sparkling form for Spain in the Under-19 Championship and was on the score sheet in the 3-1 semi-final victory against England. Despite these performances, manager Roy Hodgson is expected to sanction a loan move in the coming weeks.

Speaking to El Mundo Deportivo, Pacheco said Alonso - who began his career with the Basque outfit before transferring to Liverpool and then Real Madrid - had sold him on a move to Sociedad and he hoped to wrap up the temporary deal shortly.

"[Alonso] is the person who is helping and advising me. If a person such as he has been happy there, anyone can be happy," Pacheco revealed.

"I have heard very good things about the head coach [Martin Lasarte]. I've been told that he focuses on young people who have character, who like to play good football."

Pacheco continued: "Of course, the chance to move to Real Sociedad appeals, no doubt.

"It is a team where I can come in handy. I have heard great things about the club, the city, the people and if things go well, I'll be happy to play there."
