Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has the resources to make a splash in the transfer market to bolster his Premier League winning squad, according to the club's chief executive Ron Gourlay.

Gourlay has also dismissed speculation that talismanic striker Didier Drogba will be leaving the club in the summer, after Premier League rivals Manchester City were linked with a multi-million pound bid for the 32-year-old.

"Didier will be a Chelsea player next year. Didier is under contract," Gourlay stated, while speaking to Sky Sports News.

"The thing about this time of year is we always get [this]. For our players to be in the news - it's normal.

"But Didier Drogba will be a Chelsea player next year."

With sales unlikely, Gourlay confirmed the club do have money to reinforce their double-winning squad.

Ancelotti, 51, led the Blues to the top of the table in his debut season, and already this summer Benfica's Brazilian pair David Luiz and Ramires have been linked with big money moves to Stamford Bridge, to follow £5 million signing Yossi Benayoun as owner Roman Abramovich prepares to back the Italian.

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has also been frequently linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but Gourlay admitted it will ultimately be Ancelotti who decides how money is spent.

"If Carlo wants to bring a player or two into the squad then we will look at that," Gourlay acknowledged.

"It has to be the right player to fit into the squad and obviously at the right price. If these things all come together then fine, we'll strengthen the squad. But only if Carlo feels it's necessary."
