Adebayor, 26, is with the rest of the Blues squad in the United States as they prepare for the upcoming campaign. All the focus this summer has been on the club's extravagant spending spree, but the ex-Arsenal man is convinced the players are solely concentrating on the tricky clash against their top four rivals.
"We're just training hard at the moment," Adebayor told Sky Sports News.
"Some players are playing even though they have got an injury but they have kept on playing, and for me, the most important thing is on August 14 against Tottenham Hotspur.
"That's where we can put pressure on and show we are at the top. We are working really hard.
"Working, training and playing is not easy but for me now the team is growing up and every time we are getting better."
