Everton have confirmed a deal has been negotiated allowing the club the first option on signing Araz Abdullayev.
According to Everton's official website, the talented 18-year-old currently plays for Neftchi Baku in his homeland but successfully underwent a medical in Merseyside last week.
The deal allows Toffee's manager David Moyes to sign the teenager during the next two years, subject to a work permit being granted.
Abduallayev made his full-international debut at the age of just 16 and remains the youngest player ever to represent his country.
Moyes will be keeping a keen eye on his latest acquistion and will look to monitor his progress with a view to bringing him to Goodison Park in the forthcoming seasons.
