Everton midfielder Leon Osman has admitted he’ll have to put his prankster ways to one side as his team-mates take part in a long haul to Australia for pre-season training and a string of friendly games with local sides.
Known for his joking ways, the 29-year-old admitted that the coming weeks are a serious time for his side as they prepare for the forthcoming season, and he and his team-mates are proud to be representing the Premier League in Australia.
"I am looking forward to going to Australia though it will be a long flight," Osman told Everton's website. "I am known as a prankster on these trips, but on a 22-hour flight you need to sleep yourself at some point.
"If you’ve played pranks on the others while they have been asleep then they will get me back. I think it will be tough for me on the plane. It will be amazing to go to Australia.
"Tim Cahill is always talking it up and has said we should all go over there so it will be nice to go over and see if he is right."
Osman made 26 appearances for Everton in the Premier League last season, scoring two goals. The club's first friendly is against Brisbane Roar at the Suncorp Stadium on July 10.
