The Northern Irishman hopes he is the man to take Villa forward...Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill believes his achievements at the club over the last four years make him deserving of another season at the helm.
O'Neill has come under media scrutiny following a humiliating 7-1 Premier League defeat against Chelsea and two separate Wembley defeats, the first a League Cup final loss to Manchester United in February, and the second an FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea.
"I would really hope to be [at Villa next season]," O'Neill told the Mail Online.
"I think I've earned that right. As far as I'm concerned it's straightforward.
