Manchester United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson Will Not Be Charged For FA Rant
The Red Devils manager faced another suspension after Friday's comments

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will escape punishment from the Football Association and an automatic suspension after his rant, describing the FA as ‘crazy’ and ‘dysfunctional.’
Ferguson was unhappy with the FA after Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard was not punished for elbowing Portsmouth’s Michael Brown in the Reds 4-1 victory on Monday night, but the Red Devils boss will not face disciplinary action, according to the Daily Mail.
United defender Rio Ferdinand was banned for four matches for a similar incident against Hull City’s Craig Fagan in January, but Gerrard will not be banned, meaning he can feature in Liverpool’s visit to Old Trafford on Sunday.
United’s Rio Ferdinand was suspended for four games in January for a similar offence after he clashed with Hull’s Craig Fagan.
After Ferguson was banned for two games for criticising referee Alan Wiley’s fitness in October, any conduct charge would have meant an automatic suspension for the Red Devils manager, but the FA did not deem Ferguson’s comments to be harsh enough to warrant punishment.
“I didn’t expect them to charge Gerrard simply because it’s a dysfunctional unit, the FA. I don’t think they know what they are doing,” Ferguson said on Friday.
“There’s no consistency for a start. I never expect any. They’ll do what they want down there. It’s crazy at times.”
