Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that the club will pay their respects to the fan who died in a hospital after being injured during Saturday's match against Stoke City.

Rovers fan John Taylor, who was 30-years-old, suffered fatal injuries in the concourse of Stoke’s Britannia Stadium just after half time, and died in hospital in the early hours of Sunday.

There will be a minute's silence at Ewood Park to mark his passing, while the players will all wear black armbands during Wednesday's game with Hull City.

"It is a great tragedy that has happened," Allardyce said in the Lancashire Telegraph.

"I have never heard anything like this in my entire life. It is a great shame.

"Our sympathies go out to his family and we will doing our utmost in terms of respect for him tomorrow.

"If it helps the family in some way, we will get them a win and three valuable points."
