New dates have been announced for the postponed Carling Cup semi final between Blackburn Rovers and Aston Villa, which fell foul of the weather.

The first leg, originally scheduled for Tuesday 5th January will now take place on Thursday 14th January.

As a result, Rovers' Premier League game with Fulham on Saturday 16th January has been moved back a day.

The second leg will go ahead on its original date of Wednesday January 20th.

New dates for the other semi final, between city rivals Manchester United and Manchester City, have already been arranged. The first leg at the City of Manchester stadium will now go ahead on Tuesday 19th January, with the return leg at Old Trafford on Wednesday January 27th.
