I Have Brought An 'Identity' To Chelsea - Carlo Ancelotti

Character, thy name is 'Carletto'...

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti insists that he has brought an "identity" to the west London outfit, following concerns from owner Roman Abramovich that the club did not have a personality.

The former Milan boss had revealed in his autobiography, released earlier in the year, that the Russian bemoaned a lack of "personality" and that he "did not recognise them".

However, the Stamford Bridge outfit are presently at the summit of the Premier League, and have breezed through the group stage in the Champions League as well.

"I think that Chelsea have shown a new play in the last year, and shown personality and identity," said Ancelotti.

"Sometimes we can play well. Sometimes we don't play such a good match. But every game Chelsea play with personality, with a particular system of play and, also, with a good identity.

He added: "With Roman, I haven't spoken about this question. He will have his idea on his team."

The Blues have been on a lacklustre run in recent weeks, registering only one victory in their last six outings in all competitions. But Ancelotti is not wary of the axe should the situation continue.

"I never think that if I don't win games Roman will remove me," he said.

"My aim is to do the best for this club, as I have done for other clubs."
