Recently installed Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, 45, is reportedly worried that he will not enjoy a lengthy tenure at Eastlands despite penning a four-year contract with the City of Manchester club.

According to sources at The Daily Mail, Mancini believes he may last no longer than the summer of 2010, and could feasibly be a temporary recruit in view of an embedded clause in his deal that states that either party is allowed to part company with the other at the end of the season.

A source said: "Mancini is not sure what the picture will be in the summer so he is not taking anything for granted.

"He has said there is no way he is going to move his whole life over to England for something that, for all he knows, may last only a few months.

"He already thinks he would like to stay but at the moment he is not really looking that far beyond the summer."

Since beginning employment with City, Mancini has been linked with a plethora of players, including Giorgio Chiellini, Maicon, and Franck Ribery.

He quelled the speculation by implying that ensuring his injured players return to full fitness is of optimum priority, as opposed to guaranteeing winter window acquisitions.
