Everton To Battle Arsenal For Bordeaux Striker Marouane Chamakh - Report
The Toffees are looking to Chamakh to reinforce their frontline...
Everton have joined the race to sign long-term Arsenal target Marouane Chamakh from Girondins de Bordeaux, according to a report from The Sun.
Toffees' boss David Moyes has added the £7 million-rated Moroccan front-man to his list of targets and apparently sent scouts to watch him in action in France against Lorient on Saturday.
However, both Moyes and Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger may be frustrated in their pursuit as the player has insisted that he is staying put at Bordeaux until the end of the season when his contract expires.
"I am certain to finish the season with Bordeaux," he said.
"I will be free at the end of the season but I don't want to see my name bandied around in January."
The Sun also claims that Juventus are tracking the highly-rated striker.
