Roy Keane Hails 'Streetwise' Manchester United Legend Ryan Giggs

Roy Keane has added to the ever-lengthening list of kudos for Ryan Giggs, after the Manchester United veteran was named BBC Sports Personality of the Year for 2009.

The Irishman and the 'Welsh Wizard' were mainstays of Sir Alex Ferguson's all-conquering teams of the 1990s, winning seven Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League during their shared time at Old Trafford.

And having hung up his boots in 2006, Keane - now 38 years old - can only marvel at Giggs' continued importance to the Red Devils.

"Ryan is streetwise and very clever. It's a credit that he's pulling the strings at United at the age of 36," the Ipswich Town manager said in The Mirror.

"Ryan is so professional. He's always on time for training and has a terrific attitude.

"I look back on my playing career and the pluses are not necessarily the medals, but the people you meet. I was privileged to be involved for so long with someone like Giggsy."
