Roque Santa Cruz has revealed that his lack of games for Manchester City is beginning to frustrate him.

The centre-forward has endured a frustrating time with a knee injury at the beginning of the season, but is now fully fit.

However, he has started only one game for the Citizens so far this season with Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez and Craig Bellamy keeping him out the side.

However, Santa Cruz accepts that being patient is part and parcel of life at a club with such depth in its squad.

"I have been pleased with my progress over the past few months because I wasn't ready at the start of the season," the Paraguayan international told The Daily Mirror.

"Since then I've worked hard and it's been good to get some matches under my belt.

"I need more match fitness and I'm looking forward to being involved in the coming games, especially over the Christmas programme.

"But we have a big squad and everyone is waiting for their chance and I'm just waiting for my time to arrive."
