Tottenham Hotspur Playmaker Luka Modric Can't Wait To Play Again

Midfielder's rehabilitation almost complete...

EPL: Luka Modric, Tottenham Hotspur - Chelsea (PA)
Luka Modric is excited about playing again after he was involved in a Tottenham Hotspur reserves match after recovering from a fractured leg.

The Croatia midfielder played 70 minutes of Monday's training ground friendly against Grays Athletic.

The injury had kept the 24-year-old out for three months and Modric hopes his recovery will soon see him back in action with the first-team.

Modric told the club's official website: "I did not feel any pain and that is the most important thing.

"It is great to be back and I am happy. It is a relief after three months."

The midfielder added: "I can't wait to play again. The last three months have been hard, but that's behind me now.

"I will take it step by step and I'll have to see now when the manager decides to put me back in the squad."

Spurs are currently fourth in the Premier League, and Modric feels there are plenty of reasons to be positive for the rest of the campaign.

He said: "We have a great team, a great squad, lots of quality players and that is good for the club.

"We have plenty of options and that's positive. I hope we can keep it going."
