John Carew Will Not Leave Aston Villa In January - Agent

Towering striker could turn to Greek-er pastures in the summer...

UEFA Cup: John Carew, Aston Villa v CSKA Moscow (PA)

Aston Villa striker John Carew's agent has poured cold water on the speculation surrounding the Norway international's future at Villa Park.

The were rumours that Turkish club Fenerbahce were set to make a £5 million January bid to secure the services of the 30-year-old hitman, but it appears that the former Valencia player is keen to see out the remainder of the season under Martin O'Neill.

However, the player's representative insisted that the situation will be a make-or-break one during the summer, hinting that a move to Greek heavyweights Panathinaikos could be in the offing.

"Something will happen during the summer of 2010, either an extension or a transfer," he told Norwegian daily Dagbladet.

"John might also play out his contract, but I don't think Villa are interested in that.

"It's no news that Fenerbahce wants John, that has been known for three years now.

"Soon, the rumours about Panathinaikos will reappear too!"
