Rangers Boss Walter Smith Agrees To Work Without Contract After Christmas
Gers manager to continue at Ibrox despite financial woes...
Club chief executive Martin Bain revealed the decision at the club's Annual General Meeting today.
Financial problems at Ibrox have meant that the Gers hierarchy are in no position to be able to offer Smith a new deal, as majority shareholder David Murry seeks a buyer for the Glasgow giants.
According to Sky Sports News, Bain was also able to confirm that assistant manager Ally McCoist and first team coach Kenny McDowell would also continue in their roles at the club.
"To clarify the position of Walter Smith and his assistants with regard to contracts, we are lucky to have a management team who are all true Rangers supporters," Bain said
"Walter, Ally and Kenny have agreed to work without contracts to protect the club from having a management team that new owners might not want."
